Ouroboros provides expert medical and security advice to support individuals and teams operating in remote environments overseas.

The majority of overseas medical & security problems are non-urgent. Examples include minor infections, lost passports, traveller’s diarrhoea and itinerary changes. However some cases that may appear at first to be non-urgent may become urgent if not identified or managed correctly at an early stage. In most cases, Ouroboros will be able to advise you on the correct management, options or treatment.

Ouroboros operates a 24/7 Operations Control Centre for clients operating overseas or remote environments. This state of the art facility is manned by experienced travel and medical professionals who can help and advise you through difficult situations. Via our Operations Centre's use of telecommunication, we can provide clinical health care and security travel advice at a distance. It helps eliminate distance barriers and can improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in remote environments. It is also used to save lives in critical care and emergency situations.

When clients access the 24/7 system, their call will be fielded by a triage practioneer who will log you onto our system and establish what kind of advice you require. Depending on the issue, the triage practioneer may contact one of our specialist doctors, who will be in touch within the hour on the phone number you provide.

Account holders call us using a voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephone number.
Access to the service is through a secure account login.
Once connected, callers are screened through a triage practioneer to ensure the correct specialist is contacted.
This allows users to choose to speak to either a qualified medic in subjects such as trauma, primary care, general adult health and tropical medicine or a security operator regarding travel advice and crisis managment.
All calls are recorded for your peace of mind.
